Reviews
The food this time was real mediocre, the potatoes had a spoiled taste and the pumpkin pancakes were a bit tough and rubbery. The chicken serving on the waffle platter was really small for the price point. We ordered the cold carmel machiatos coffee drinks, and they were still warm and tasted like dirty milky water. It was a definite no.
So many delicious options, it's hard to decide on just one entree!!! I can't believe I didn't know this place existed. You get a lot of food for the price. We ordered the country fried steak meal, Mississippi skillet, stuffed French toast, and gumbo soup. All of it was amazing. The staff was nice and the service was good. I will definitely be returning!!! Can't wait to try some of the other things on the menu, like the fried green tomatoes.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is great, and the staff were really nice. I ordered the special Chicken and waffles, but I couldn't eat it. The waffle itself was delicious, and the flavors of the sauce, gravy, and syrup together were great. It was just ruined by the chicken being overcooked and extremely dry. I was really excited about trying something new for breakfast, but after a few bites my stomach started bothering me. I'd like to go back again and give something else on the menu a try, but I was very disappointed in my first meal. I still paid for it, but I kind of regret not saying anything to the server about how bad the chicken was. I was looking forward to some good, juicy chicken. Maybe next time
The 3 stars are a 3/3 for the excellent customer service! Every person was incredibly nice. We waited an hour for a table.
The breakfast foods I had were pretty but not tasty. The beignets were tastless and the fruits served with them were canned gelatinous, rubbery, over sweet and yucky. The stuffed french toast on the menu was supposed to be a cream filled dream. The stuffed french toast that came to the table had a small smear of something in between and the nasty canned fruit gelatinous blob on top.
My daughter had a burger, she said it was yummy. My friend had eggs Benedict and liked it a lot.
Not planning another trip. The folks were SO nice but food was not worth it or the price.
The service was pretty friendly and quick, and the New Orleans theme of the restaurant is fun. We got there around 1pm on a weekday, got seated right away, and our food must have come in 5-10 minutes - it felt super fast! It wasn't too loud when we were there, and it seemed pretty clean as well.
I had the Huckleberry lemonade, which honestly mostly just tasted like regular lemonade to me, and the Quiche Lorraine, which was good but just kind of average. It didn't taste as if someone had just freshly cooked it, you know? So overall, while the ambience and service were good, the food was just okay. I also wish they had more dishes with vegetables, because although I am not a vegetarian, I do prefer to eat balanced meals.
Crab Eggs Benedict amazing! Beignets delicious. Mississippi scramble good also. Service friendly and food made fast.
Loved the food. The beignet doesn’t taste like beignets but it was still good with the cream and jam. Everything we ordered was great including the Garden Omelet, chicken and waffle, and the French toast. The service was quick and great. Will definitely come back.
It was pleasant surprise indeed. Love the interior decor and the divider between tables that can be raised then it looks like a long table although still separated by the lower half of the divider.. The host were welcoming and the food was good. It looks like a local favorite as well.
